As a student, there are so many ways that you can
get involved with Terp Thon:
As a dancer:
When you become a Terp Thon dancer, you join a movement. You join hundreds of other University of Maryland students, as well as students around the nation, who dedicate themselves to fighting for the next generation. You become the catalyst of change in the world. You become the difference in a child’s life.
When you become a Terp Thon dancer, you also join a lifelong family. You become a part of a community of thousands of Terp Thon’s past and present participants. You become a part of a legacy at the University of Maryland that promotes empowerment, passion, and care. You will stand alongside 2,000+ other students for 12 hours, and share an experience that will transform each and every one of you.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please reach out to our Dancer Relations Chair, Victoria Fiore, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of a Greek team:
Each year, Greek letter organizations come together to participate in Terp Thon. The basic foundation of fraternities and sororities are rooted in philanthropy, service, and leadership. Thus, it is no surprise that Greek students are some of Terp Thon’s most involved participants and top fundraisers each year. Signing up as a chapter is a great way to bond with each other and with friends in other chapters, all while supporting an incredible cause. Terp Thon is grateful for the continued support our organization has received from the Greek community and we are excited to see what the future holds.
For more information about getting involved as a Greek chapter, contact our Greek Relations chair, Alex Wahl, at email@example.com.
As part of a student organization:
Each year, Terp Thon unites the diverse UMD campus For The Kids. The University of Maryland has over 800 active student organizations on campus. With the help of these student organizations, Terp Thon has raised over $4.2 million in the past 9 years.
Terp Thon is a great opportunity for student organizations to build relationships with one another and strengthen our UMD community as a whole. We aim to create mutually beneficial relationships with all involved organizations, including opportunities to bond with your organization while uniting under a great cause, meeting our Miracle Kids, attending organization-specific fundraising trips, cosponsoring events, and networking with other student leaders.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about student organization teams, please reach out to our Dancer Relations Chair, Victoria Fiore, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a Terp Thon Ambassador:
The Terp Thon Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity equivalent to that of Terp Thon Planning Team, but specifically designed for individuals involved in other organizations on campus. Ambassadors work year-round to spread their passion for the cause while increasing engagement and involvement in their respective organizations. Ambassadors will act as liaisons between Terp Thon and their own organizations and will be responsible for relaying information about all upcoming campaigns and events, as well as connecting their organization to Terp Thon’s cause year round. Ambassadors will have regular meetings throughout the school year where they will brainstorm fundraising ideas, meet other Ambassadors, and have the chance to bring new ideas and goals back to their organizations. This position includes regular Ambassador meetings where representatives from both Greek and non-Greek organizations will have the opportunity to work closely with each other and collaborate on brainstorming and goal-setting.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the ambassador program, please reach out to our Dancer Relations Chair, Victoria Fiore, at email@example.com, or our Greek Relations Chair, Alex Wahl, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Terp Thon Planning Team is a select group of individuals who work year-round to plan Dance Marathon. We rely on Planning Team members to enable our organization to make the biggest impact possible on our campus. There are 16 committees that work collaboratively in various areas of interest to raise awareness for our cause and to plan events.
