Ependymoma
At five months old, Trevor was away at Ocean City on one of his family’s weekend trips when his first symptoms occurred. After visiting the ER for what was thought to be a stomach bug, he was soon flown to Children’s National Hospital, where he was diagnosed with ependymoma. He had a brain tumor the size of a tennis ball that was sitting on his occipital lobe. He had a brain resection and underwent six months of chemotherapy and, in January 2012, an MRI showed he was cancer free! Trevor is now twelve years old and is often accompanied to Terp Thon events with his siblings. He is an active and exuberant child who loves running around and keeping up with his older brother.
