Future nurse
FSGS/Nephrotic Syndrome
Samerya is a twelve year old with big dreams: she aspires to be a nurse when she grows up so that she can take care of people with the same love and support that the nurses at Children’s National Hospital have shown her. Samerya has Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS)/Nephrotic syndrome, a form of kidney disease that prevents her body from breaking down proteins. Samerya is an active and fun-loving ball of energy! She loves to hula-hoop and her favorite color is yellow. Samerya was chosen to be one of ten Children’s Miracle Network 2019 National Champions! Every year, local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals select a “Champion” to represent the children being treated at their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
